Microsoft has unveiled DocumentDB, the first fully open source platform for PostgreSQL-based document databases, which is also the engine for the vCore version of Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB.
The new project aims to create a standard for NoSQL databases, providing flexibility and compatibility for both on-premises deployments and cloud solutions.
DocumentDB provides open access to technologies and tools for working with big data and AI solutions.
