Amazon Web Services has announced a new quantum chip called Ocelot, which can reduce error correction costs by up to 90%.
Developed at the AWS Center for Quantum Computing in conjunction with the California Institute of Technology, Ocelot uses "cat-qubit" technology to reduce the need for resources to correct errors.
AWS says Ocelot is an important step toward commercially viable quantum computing that has the potential to transform many areas of scientific research.
