Microsoft Launches Grant Program for Scientists to Bring Reliable Quantum Computer Closer

Microsoft has announced the launch of the 2026 Quantum Pioneers Program, under which the company will allocate up to $200 thousand for academic research in the field of meter-oriented approaches to topological quantum computing. The initiative aims to accelerate the creation of a scalable and fault-tolerant quantum computer, from new methods for controlling and reading qubits to experiments in early quantum error correction and NISQ systems. Admission will last until the end of January 2026.
