VS Code adds agent tools, terminal control and deeper Copilot integration

The April 8 and April 15, 2026 releases of Visual Studio Code push further into AI‑agent tooling. The updates introduce a companion app, improved terminal interaction, and session debugging features. Microsoft also expanded built‑in Copilot capabilities, tightening the workflow between the editor, the terminal, and AI‑driven tasks.
