Visual Studio 2026 adds Copilot cloud agent to Copilot Chat

Visual Studio 2026 brings GitHub Copilot’s cloud agent into the Copilot Chat picker, matching a capability already available in VS Code. A developer can hand off a task, close the IDE, and let it run on GitHub Actions infrastructure. When the job finishes, Copilot returns with a pull request — an async workflow that moves AI work outside the editor.
